When you’re in the Midwest, you don’t have to go far to drive over a highway or walk into a building that Fox Contractors has had a part in. We’ve been involved in some of the most recognizable construction projects in the area.

Current projects to look out for:

Indiana State Fairgrounds - Guest Experience

Indianapolis, IN

Since 1892, the historic Indiana State Fairgrounds has been a cherished part of life for generations of Hoosiers. Over the last several years, Fox has proudly served as a trade partner, working with general contractors to ensure that this treasured location lives on for generations to enjoy.

Our latest project represents the fourth time Fox has worked to preserve and improve the fairgrounds. This multi-phase project will add a new entrance on Fall Creek Parkway at the northeast corner of the campus and complete reconstruction of the original entrance at the 3900 block of Fall Creek Parkway.  When finished in the fall of 2025, the improvements will include a full-size roundabout to ease congestion during large events, additional service roads, an impressive new ticket canopy and landscaping installations throughout the project limits.

IU Health Hospital

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Excavating the site of a major medical facility is a major undertaking, and the 89-acre site of the new IU Health hospital project has been no exception. This ambitious project includes deep well dewatering, sewer cuts to 32’, and dual water pressure zones. The Fox team also jacked and bored under a cross-country gas main and solved multiple grading issues while encountering changing soil types. Daily plan changes made the aggressive schedule even more challenging. By the time the project is completed, Fox will have moved more than 600,000 cubic yards of soil, and laid more than 7,445 linear feet of sanitary sewer lines, an 8,364 linear foot water main and a 7,432 linear foot storm sewer system.

Baker's Point Subdivision Sections 1A & 1B

Pendleton, IN

In today’s active housing market, lost time is lost opportunities for developers, and abbreviated scheduling has become the standard. The Baker’s Pointe subdivision project is a perfect example. The 9-month production schedule included an aggressive grading schedule to make room for winter pipe. As soon as the grading was completed, an equally aggressive pipe schedule had the Fox team battling cold temperatures and frozen ground to finish work in time to be ready for streets to be added in the Spring. When finished, the Fox team will have moved more than 87,000 cubic yards of earth across 52-acres.

Bakers Point

Allen County Jail

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Many of Allen County’s government and municipal buildings stand on ground prepared by Fox Contractors. In October 2024, the Fox team began work on the site for the new Allen County Jail. This 50-acre project includes site demo, erosion control, earthwork, roads and parking lots, as well as storm sewer, sanitary sewer and the water line. Fox also placed 97,500 tons of stone to establish the 333,235 square-foot building pad. By the time the project is finished, more than 190,000 cubic yards of earth will have been moved.

Waste Management Twin Bridges RDF Cell 12 B

Danville, IN

Sometimes a project can be bigger than it looks. In late 2024, the Fox team began excavation for a new 10-acre landfill cell. By the time excavation was completed, more than 650,000 cubic yards of dirt had been moved. The work continues with clay and synthetic liners , leachate piping, drainage layering and gas collection being installed. The entire project should be finished  by late summer, 2025.

Fort Wayne, IN

Fox was contracted by Brooks Construction to handle site work for this 5-mile highway reconstruction project—and there is plenty to do. The Fox team is removing more than 300,000 SYS of concrete, which will be recycled for future projects. More than 23 miles of new underdrains, 1.75 miles of new storm pipe, 200 new storm structures and a new 18’x19’ box culvert are also being installed. The highly anticipated project brings much-need repair and updating to a very important stretch of roadway.
